Board of Directors
The Mississauga Food Bank is run by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Current Directors are:
Chris Lord, President & Chair
Chris Lord is a seasoned general manager and business executive with 20 years of progressive career experience gained from both international and domestic opportunities with global Fortune 500 companies. Chris has been a Partner at Accenture, prior to which he was a Senior Vice President at EDS Canada and was a General Manager at Xerox. Chris has a strong personal commitment to continuous learning and development, a passion for excellence and a strong desire to support the community. Chris is originally from Nova Scotia and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.
Nancy Creede, Vice President
Nancy has spent much of her career working in the telecommunications industry in a variety of senior management positions with Bell Canada. She has extensive experience in call centre and customer service operations as well as training, Human Resources and strategic and business planning. Since leaving Bell, she has consulted in these areas on many projects mainly in the not for profit sector. Nancy’s background includes a strong commitment to community involvement as a long time volunteer with Junior Achievement and previously as a Board Secretary and Treasurer for Interim Place, a women’s shelter in Peel.
Melanie Borho, Treasurer
Melanie is a Chartered Accountant working as an audit senior manager for BDO Canada LLP where she has worked on the audits of various organizations, including not-for-profit organizations, charities, insurance companies, distribution companies and various owner-managed and small to medium size business. She has been a Director of The Mississauga Food Bank since 2005 and was elected Treasurer in June 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Sam Feuer, Secretary
Sam has held senior management positions in the worlds of banking, publishing, technology and management consulting. More importantly, he has several years of “hands on” experience as grandfather of five wonderful grandsons (although his wife, Jeanette, is the real “guiding light” in this arena). Prior to his retirement in 2007, he headed large, multi-year multi-million dollar programs for one of Canada’s major chartered banks. Prior to joining The Mississauga Food Bank, he was a long time member of the Board of Directors of NALD (National Adult Literacy Database), a world class non-profit organization supporting Canadian and international adult literacy communities.
Brad Butt
Brad is the President & CEO of the Greater Toronto Apartment Association, a business association representing the private rental housing industry. Brad has volunteered his time and energy to many organizations and committees. He is the Chair of Safe City Mississauga, director of the Mississauga Sports Council and serves on Mississauga’s Committee of Adjustment. In 2009, Brad received an Award from the Mayor & Members of Council for 30 years of volunteer service to the City of Mississauga. He joined The Mississauga Food Bank’s Board of Directors in February 2009.
Cameron Chiarot
Cameron B. Chiarot is an accomplished professional, entrepreneur and philanthropist with a 10-year successful track record in executive management and consulting. Cameron began his career at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center as a project manager in research and development. In 2002, Cameron accepted a position as Senior Manager of R&D at Princess Margaret Hospital where he was instrumental in achieving two Health Canada Class III medical device approvals, which were pivotal in re-shaping cancer treatment. Cameron was also successful with the development of two multi-million dollar clinical research infrastructure projects from conception to completion. Over the years, Cameron has published several peer-reviewed manuscripts and has presented his work at international conferences. Cameron is a firm believer in charitable organizations, and has volunteered for several NGO’s. Recently, Cameron and his mother, Mary Chiarot, designed, developed, and patented the c•cure•ity Blanket and partnered with The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation to raise funds for cancer awareness and research. Cameron graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Honors Neuroscience and the Management Leadership Program from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Cameron is an accomplished photographer and he also enjoys literature, travel, gastronomy and tennis.
Julie Curitti
Julie Curitti is the Area Director of the Mississauga branch of Bayshore Home Health, overseeing the delivery of home health services in Peel region. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences (Nursing) from Charles Stuart University. With more than 35 years of experience and continued learning in health care, Julie has worked in critical care, rehabilitation, schools, home care, management and business administration. She is an advocate for seniors and food security and volunteers as a Board Member for Peel Senior Link. As an active member, Julie received the RNAO Political Action Award for her advocacy in a campaign that resulted in a substantial increase in the provincial funding for food for residents in long-term care homes across Ontario. Julie joined the Board of The Mississauga Food Bank in February 2009.
Teresa Gobran
Teresa is a chemist working for the Ministry of The Environment. She has great knowledge and experience in small business; start-up planning, purchasing, marketing, accounting as well as importing. She is a member of Anba Abraam Board of Directors, involved in United Way and Federated Health Annual Campaigns, a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years and has been involved in a multitude of fundraising events including the planning and organizing of 3 Annual Conventions (Family Convention, Youth Convention, Children Convention) for over 500 attendees each. She managers and operates a gift shop at the Canadian Coptic Center, volunteers at St. Mary’s Food Bank and has been on The Mississauga Food Bank Board since November 2005.
Christopher Hart
Christopher Hart graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in 1985. He received his law degree from Dalhousie University Law School in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1989 and was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 1991. He practiced environmental and corporate/commercial law at the Toronto firm of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt until 1984. In 1984 he joined the law department of General Electric Canada Inc. where he provides legal advice to GE Corporate Environmental Programs and various GE businesses concerning environmental, health and safety compliance, remedial sites and general corporate/commercial matters and agreements.

Jeff Hui
Jeff graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Degree in Mathematics and Business Administration. He has worked at a leading Canadian independent record label and as the General Manager of a mortgage lending firm. Jeff also serves on the Board of Directors of the Mississauga Board of Chinese Professionals & Businesses and as an Executive Council member on the Young Leaders Council for the United Way of Peel Region. Jeff has been a Director of The Mississauga Food Bank since 2005, co-chaired the inaugural 2007 Gala Dinner, and is currently the Chair of the Nominating Committee.
Colleen MacNeil
Colleen comes with a strong educational and employment background in food services and finance. She has held several senior positions over the years from Sector Controller to General Manager. Colleen brings a significant understanding of business and team building. She has a passion for food, wine and fun! Colleen joined the Board of The Mississauga Food Bank in December 2009.
Rob Mitchell
Rob Mitchell has lived in Mississauga since 1995 with his wife Faten and four children. They love the parks and quiet neighbourhoods. Rob has an MBA from The University of Western Ontario and has worked for the last 15 years designing, building and selling medical device and healthcare software. Rob is active with several charities and saw that even here in our wealthy community many people struggle to pay for food and housing. He joined The Mississauga Food Bank to help it grow to meet the ever increasing demand for food.
