Corporate/Group Volunteering

Volunteers in the WarehouseGeneral Group Volunteering
Volunteering as a group is a great team building opportunity!  We will provide you with meaningful tasks that will involve interaction with other volunteers as you make a difference in the lives of those that are hungry in our community!  Typically groups volunteer at Special Events or as Warehouse Assistants.  If you are interested in volunteering as a group, please download our Group Volunteering Package and complete the Group Volunteer Registration form, and submit it to Nikki Sandhu.

The Master Cart Decorator Challenge
If you are in a competitive spirit, twice a year The Mississauga Food Bank participates in parades, which include the Santa Clause Parade and a July 1 celebration Parade.  Our decorated truck is driven down the parade route, with our decorated shopping carts following.  Eager volunteers push the carts and collect canned food donations from parade attendees.

Groups are encouraged to apply to decorate a shopping cart!  You bring your unique ideas and creativity to win The Master Cart Decorator Challenge.  Each shopping cart you want to decorate can have a maximum of 4 volunteers.  A suggested donation of $30 per group is greatly appreciated for this event!  All decorated carts will be pushed along in the parade.  A winner will be determined, and declared the Master Cart Decorator, with the special group receiving instant recognition on our website and an award!

If you are interested in volunteering for this challenge, please complete the Group Volunteer Registration Form, and indicate in the comments section that you are interested in The Master Cart Decorator Challenge.  Please submit it directly to Nikki Sandhu.

Group Tour Requests

If you are unable to volunteer, but would like to learn more about The Mississauga Food Bank, group tours are available during regular business hours.  We will walk you through our facilities providing you with in-depth knowledge about how we function – from where we get our food to how it goes out to our clients.  Please complete the Group Tour Request Form, and submit it to Nikki Sandhu.
