Corporate/Group Volunteering
Why Should We Volunteer?

Volunteering as a group is a great team building exercise, and a great way to give back to your community. We will provide a full orientation and tour, then set you up with meaningful tasks that will have you interacting with other volunteers and making a difference in the lives of hungry children and adults in your community.
What do Volunteer Groups Do?
Volunteer Groups help us by:
- Doing various tasks in the warehouse: sorting food, picking agency orders, cleaning/organizing – the jobs posted on our white board are different every day!
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as stuffing envelopes
When Can We Volunteer? Who Can Volunteer?
- Half and full day shifts are available, Monday through Thursday – 9:30am-12:00pm and/or 12:30pm-3:00pm.
- We can accommodate groups of up to 8 people per shift and are happy to split larger groups into multiple shifts on the same day.
- We do not have weekend or evening volunteer opportunities in the warehouse other than during the Spring and Fall Drives. We have occasional weekend/evening event opportunities (handing out donation bags at grocery stores, etc.) so if you wish to be notified of these opportunities, please register.
- Our warehouse is restricted to adults only during the day, however Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00pm are available for youth groups (Scouts, sports teams, etc.) that have their own adult supervision. Please discuss these options with a member of our staff.
How Do We Register?
Please have one representative complete a group application form, then follow up with Robin Harding at robin@themississaugafoodbank.org to discuss potential dates and opportunities. If registering a group, please use the ‘First Name’ field to enter your team leader’s first and last name, and use the ‘Last Name’ field to enter your group name, in CAPITAL LETTERS.
