Bring your team to fight hunger in Mississauga.

Volunteering in our warehouse is a fun, interactive way for groups of all kinds to support their Mississauga neighbours. Groups (up to 10 volunteers) may volunteer for the afternoon shifts only; shifts fill up quickly so please be prepared to book your group up to 2 months in advance.

*Because we receive many more requests for group shifts than we have shifts available, we recognize groups who also run food drives and/or donate funds by providing them with more volunteer opportunities throughout the year and with advanced booking. Groups that do not have an established history of support may book one afternoon shift per calendar year.

For information on donating food and/or funds, please read about Other Ways to Help.

Steps to Volunteering as a Group – Corporate, Casual or Family

Step 1

Register: on the Volunteer Calendar, register your group by selecting NEW VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION. Initially you will only need to register a lead contact person.

Step 2

Book a shift: on the Volunteer Calendar click on ‘I am Scheduling My Group’ (vs. ‘I am Scheduling myself’). Find an available shift (blue) which suits your group and select ‘Sign up’.

Step 3

You should now be on the Volunteer Group Information page – please fill out as indicated and ‘save’.

Step 4

The ‘Please Review Your Selections’ page will ask you to confirm the date and time of your shift and indicate the number of volunteers in your group. Please initial the appropriate forms (Liability Waiver, etc) and ‘Click to complete SCHEDULE MY GROUP’.

You should see a document confirming that you have successfully submitted your group for approval for the shift you selected.

Step 5

You can register your individual group members at any time by clicking on “Create/View/Edit Volunteer Group Information”

Request a Volunteer Shift for Your Group

(Please select ‘I am scheduling my group’ in the registration)

Please note:

  • Once you have signed up your shift request it will be considered ‘pending’ until reviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator. You can expect a response within 48 hrs.
  • All volunteers must wear close-toed, sturdy shoes. Slippers and sandals will not be allowed.
  • If your group must cancel, please notify us well in advance.
  • We ask that groups please bring along a food donation. We suggest each person bring a grocery bag of non-perishable items. Check out our most needed items list for donation inspiration.
