The Mississauga Baha’i Community Fundraiser
in support of The Mississauga Food Bank
Dear Friends, The Mississauga Bahá’í community invites you to participate in a Virtual Fundraiser in support of The Mississauga Food Bank on the occasions of the Bahá’í festival of Ayyám-i-Há (also known as the Intercalary Days), the Month of ‘Alá (the 19-day fasting period at the end of the Bahá’í calendar), and the celebration of Naw-Rúz (Bahá’í New Year).
While the 5-day Ayyám-i-Há period is a special time for gift-giving, hospitality, and charity, it is hoped that these qualities can continue to be demonstrated in abundance through to the marking of the New Year.
The Mississauga Food Bank’s Virtual Fundraiser charity event will begin on Friday, February 25, 2022 (the first day of Ayyám-i-Há) and conclude on May 2, 2022 (Naw-Rúz, Bahá’í New Year) and is open for all to participate and contribute, including those from Canada and beyond, with other religious affiliations and membership in other community groups, and who are unaffiliated with any religion or group.
Participants are also encouraged to share this opportunity with their friends, family members, and communities.
This Virtual Fundraiser will facilitate the flow of monetary donations towards purchasing The Mississauga Food Bank’s most needed food items for those families and communities which depend on it most, especially during these uniquely difficult times.
The Mississauga Bahá’í community is grateful for any contributions that can make to help reach the overall goal of $2,000. Participants who donate $10 or more will receive an automatic charitable tax receipt, which will be emailed immediately after an eligible contribution has been made.
If you have any questions about the Mississauga Food Bank’s Virtual Fundraiser charity event, please contact Dhevan Yogeswaran at dsy1802@yahoo.com.
With best regards,
The Mississauga Bahá’í community
