Meet David, our Donor Relations and Database Specialist – and one of the newest members of our team!
“My family has always supported food banks and the work they do, wherever we live. It has become an annual tradition for both my mother and I to cash in our grocery store points at year’s end and go on a shopping spree for canned goods, toiletries, and other in-demand items. It gives us a tangible sense of the difference we are making with our support.
Not long after I began working here, I had the opportunity to spend a day helping on the truck. We stopped at a food pantry in a neighbouring city that had a surplus of stock to share with us. It was a memorable experience to see the staff and volunteers form a chain and pass a crate of food from one to the other to help load everything onto a pallet for us.
I am proud of the enthusiasm everyone: staff, volunteers, and donors alike, have for the Food Bank and the work it does. Everyone you meet is dedicated to giving their all to ensure that things run smoothly and that we can feed as many hungry neighbours as possible.
What I love most about working at the Food Bank is how supportive the team has been. Even after only a couple of weeks, it felt as if I had been here for years.”
