Dory was facing serious health issues and struggling to make ends meet as a retired dental technician.
Then, her husband passed away. Suddenly, it became nearly impossible to afford the nutritious food she needed to maintain her health. Dory’s landlord suggested she visit one of the neighbourhood food banks in The Mississauga Food Bank’s network to get food.
Now, Dory has access to fresh food she needs to make wholesome meals each month—all because of your ongoing generosity. “The food bank saves me a lot of money,” Dory says. “Rent is very expensive. The only thing that doesn’t go up is retirement income. Rent goes up, food goes up, gas goes up. Now I come to the food bank for basic food.”
