Exciting Announcement – From Shawn McMurter, Board Chair

It is with great pride and excitement The Board of Directors announces that Meghan Nicholls, CFRE has been appointed Executive Director of The Mississauga Food Bank. After an extensive search and rigorous interview process, the board is confident Meghan’s experience and expertise will empower her to successfully lead the food bank forward and advance our vision of A Mississauga Where No One Goes Hungry.

Over the past nine years, Meghan has served hungry neighbours in our city with dedication in her role as Director of Marketing and Development. In this time, she led the team in raising millions of dollars and pounds of food to facilitate the fight against hunger in our city. She also contributed to the successful development and launch of a new strategic plan that will ensure The Mississauga Food Bank continues to improve access to food for hungry neighbours.

Since January 2018, Meghan has led the organization as Interim Executive Director with a confident, steady hand and we look forward to her continued excellence in leadership.

Please join me in offering sincere congratulations to our new Executive Director, Meghan Nicholls!

With Gratitude,

Shawn McMurter
Chair, Board of Directors

“In my nine years working at The Mississauga Food Bank, I’ve developed a deep passion for feeding my hungry neighbours. However, the need for emergency food continues to rise in our community, with visits to neighbourhood food banks increasing over 18% in the last 12 months. I am honoured to serve the Mississauga community as Executive Director and I am committed to working to making sure no one has to worry about where their next meal is coming from.”
