Nourishing News | Spring 2023 – La-Toya’s Story

“I know a real difference is being made in our community”

“I have a large family, and our grocery bill is very high, which causes me to often wonder how others in the community are making ends meet,” La-Toya shares.  “When I thought of volunteering, this organization was the first I thought of.”

As a Food Sorting Lead Volunteer here at The Mississauga Food Bank, La-Toya makes an incredible difference in our community, ensuring fresh, healthy food gets from our shelves to the families that need it.

“When I think of how much food we sort and the skids we prepare to go out to our agencies, I know a real difference is being made in our community,” she says, smiling.  “It has also brought a lot of personal fulfillment.”

THANK YOU to La-Toya and all of our amazing volunteers! You’re at the heart of everything we do!
