In light of the Leadership Transition announced last week, Chris and Shawn wanted to take a moment to share their personal thoughts.

Letter From Chris

Dear Supporter,

Each year, as New Year’s Eve approaches, I spend time thinking about the year that is ending. Looking back at 2017, I’m incredibly thankful for YOU, our champions in the fight against hunger. It’s through your support and generosity that more neighbours than ever before received healthy, fresh food when they couldn’t afford to purchase it on their own.

It has been my honour to serve as Executive Director for the past 9 years at The Mississauga Food Bank, seeing the organization grow, change, and develop into the hunger-fighting community pillar it is today. We couldn’t have done it without you.

I am moving on to lead another organization in January. But I know I leave The Mississauga Food Bank in great hands under the leadership of our volunteer Board of Directors and Interim Executive Director, Meghan Nicholls.

I know that with this leadership and your support, The Mississauga Food Bank will continue on as a beacon of hope for hungry neighbours in our community and work hard to realize the vision of A Mississauga Where No One Goes Hungry

With my sincerest thanks,
Chris Hatch

Letter From Shawn

To The Mississauga Food Bank Community,

As volunteer Board Directors at The Mississauga Food Bank, it is our role to provide strategic direction on behalf of the community at large. What a privilege to serve a dynamic organization that is making such a big difference in Mississauga!

While we will miss Chris’ leadership at the food bank, our unwavering commitment is to ensure those struggling with hunger in our city receive the healthy food they need. During this time of transition, I have confidence that Meghan Nicholls will carry out the role of Interim Executive Director with skill and confidence.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity as we care for hungry children, families, and seniors in our community together. And if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.

Sincerely,
Shawn McMurter
Board Chair
