Did you know that there are over 84,000 registered charities in Canada? That’s an incredible number of hardworking people trying to make a difference in our country. But it can also be overwhelming to know which charities to support when you’re making year-end decisions about your charitable giving.

This year, Maclean’s premiered its first-ever charity ranking list with goals of helping Canadians make more effective giving decisions. They have created a list of the top 100 charities in Canada based on two main criteria: what charities do with each donated dollar, and how transparent they are about it.

It fills me with incredible pride to share that not only did we make the top 100 list, but we were in the top 10 charities nationwide with a final grade of 97.5%.

This honour speaks to the amazing work that your generosity enables every day through your ongoing support, volunteer efforts and the dedicated work of TMFB staff and board members.

As we head into the holiday giving season, we promise to continue relieving hunger by providing and promoting access to healthy food for people in need in the most efficient way possible. If you have any questions about our score or these rankings, please give me a call at 905-270-5589 x226.

I always say that it takes all of us to feed our hungry neighbours. The work we do would not be possible without your incredibly generous partnership. Thank you for giving towards a Mississauga where no one goes hungry.

With deepest gratitude,

Meghan Nicholls
Executive Director
