Meet Diane and Richard, Food Bank 2 Home Volunteer Drivers

Today we are shining the spotlight on Diane and Richard Solomon, two of our Food Bank 2 Home Volunteer Drivers! 🚘🚘

Diane and Richard started volunteering at The Mississauga Food Bank in March 2020. They were already supporting the organization as donors when they found out about this opportunity. “Food insecurity is a paramount issue in our community and we wanted to do our part to address it. Bringing much-needed food to clients who are unable to access the food bank helps to achieve this.”

They are extremely proud of the organization and how they have been able to contribute to feeding their hungry neighbours. “Thanks to the impact reports that The Mississauga Food Bank shares with us, we realize that the number of clients receiving food is only increasing, and they’ve been able to serve all of those who come asking for help, in part because of the volunteers!” One of Diane and Richard’s favourite parts of volunteering is being able to interact with the clients. “We deliver to a wonderful family consisting of a single parent with 3 children. She welcomes us warmly each time we see her, and her kids come to the door and wave to us. She always thanks us.”

Diane and Richard, thank you, for everything you do here at The Mississauga Food Bank! 🤗 👏
