Meet Heather McLean, Programs Manager
Today we are shining the spotlight on Heather, our Programs Manager! 🙌 Heather first joined The Mississauga Food Bank team in December 2020.
“Everyday something amazing happens here, whether it’s a moment to connect with a teammate or volunteer or a phone call with a client who shares their story. A while back, a client called to book a tax clinic appointment, but we stayed on the phone as she told me her ups and downs. We’ve kept in touch and she has truly been a highlight of my time at The Mississauga Food Bank.”
Heather’s favourite part of working at The Mississauga Food Bank is being part of a collective effort to help eliminate hunger in Mississauga. She also feels so proud and happy to be able to experience how the team works together at every level to do so. “The most rewarding part of my job is being part of a team that collaborates to alleviate hunger and increase access to nutritious food… A basic human right that is still not equally accessible to all! The greatest challenge for me right now at The Mississauga Food Bank is to design and implement meaningful, life-enhancing programs that will best serve clients and make a positive difference in their lives.”
