Meet Kim Brolley, Volunteer Engagement Office support

This week, we’re shining a spotlight on Kim Brolley, Volunteer Engagement Office Support! πŸ‘ Kim started to volunteer in the fall of 2020. She has volunteered in the food sorting area on several occasions, but her main role has been supporting our Volunteer Coordinator, Julia De Paz, as a Volunteer Engagement Office Support.

“I find volunteering very rewarding. I like to think I am helping out. I feel like the food bank is an important part of every community and it is essential that each person do what they can to lend a helping hand! Volunteering has been a great experience for me. I was used to always being busy and now that I am retired, I have the time. By volunteering I am able to keep myself busy, have contact with people I might not have otherwise, and give back to the community.

It feels like a win-win situation for me. Not having enough food is something most of us can never imagine experiencing. However, it’s a real problem that some of our neighbours face and if volunteering can assist those who find themselves in need, it’s important to do so. We are stronger and better when we work together.” Thank you Kim for all your hard work and dedication here at The Mississauga Food Bank. πŸ’š
