Meet Joanna, Director of Marketing & Communications
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Joanna Burke, our Director of Marketing and Communications.
Joanna first joined the team at The Mississauga Food Bank in April 2020.
“The marketing and communications department is unique because we support all the other departments in achieving their goals by helping to get the word out in the community about food and fundraising, and promoting access to our services for those in need of food. I started working for The Mississauga Food Bank during the first wave of COVID-19. My first week on the job I hit the ground running to coordinate media interviews and press conferences.
It was great being present for cheque presentations and getting to meet some of the fine folks who generously donated to the food bank during such a critical time. The most rewarding thing about working for The Mississauga Food Bank is collaborating with all the staff and volunteers that come through our doors. It really does take a village to feed our city, and every single person here helps make that possible.”
