Meet Linda, Food Procurement and Donations Specialist

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Linda, our Food Procurement and Donations Specialist.

“Knowing that the food I source directly helps people in my community is the most rewarding part of my job.”

Linda joined the team at The Mississauga Food Bank in January, about five weeks prior to the first wave of COVID-19 in Ontario. “My most impactful memory of my time with TMFB has been the outpour of support and generosity we’ve received from our community since March,” says Linda.

“Once the pandemic began, everything about my job changed immediately. Suddenly, many of the foods we purchase became scarce, we received an increase in nonperishable donations, and dry good became harder and harder to come by.

Now, I’m purchasing more food than ever before to ensure we can continue to feed our hungry neighbours. I’d like to thank all of our donors who give monetary gifts to the food bank so we can continue to give our hungry neighbours the healthy and nutritious food they need.”
