This week we are shining the spotlight on Fay Pereira and Sean Naidu, two of our food sorting volunteers!

Fay and Sean began volunteering at The Mississauga Food Bank last summer, as they were looking for opportunities to give back to the community. “We’ve always been aware of the amazing work that The Mississauga Food Bank does in promoting access to food for people in our community. When the pandemic started, we saw an opportunity to evaluate how we spend our time. Covid-19 has been a hardship on so many people, and what better way to show love and support for our city than to help those who need it most during these challenging times.”

Fay and Sean are not only grateful but feel fulfilled to be a part of The Mississauga Food Bank and be able to support those who need it the most. “As a couple with busy jobs, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in our own hectic lives and struggles, that we often forget that there are many less fortunate people in our community who lack access to basic necessities. While we’re at the food bank, we are able to refocus our energy on being a positive impact on someone else’s life.”

Thank you, Fay and Sean, for everything you do here at The Mississauga Food Bank! We are very fortunate to count on you. 💚
