Volunteer Spotlight, Shannoy

Meet Shanoy, Food Sorting Leader Volunteer

Shannoy began volunteering at the food bank last December because she felt inspired by the work and effort The Mississauga Food Bank puts into getting food to those who need it. “I first stumbled across the organization’s website while surfing the web. I saw the amazing projects they were doing especially during Covid 19 and signed up immediately. Volunteering at the food bank is one of my favourite times of the week.

Helping in any way can make you feel great at the end of the day.” Not only has volunteering made Shannoy gain a sense of accomplishment, but it has also allowed her to meet a lot of great people. “I love that The Mississauga Food Bank has great people on their teams who seem to care about their purpose which is really inspiring. 5 years from now I hope to have my own aquaponics farm.” Thank you Shannoy, for your love and commitment to help you neighbours in need! 💚 #volunteersbringchange
