Nourishing News | Fall 2022 – Helping hungry neighbours one stitch at a time

Since starting her volunteer journey with The Mississauga Food Bank in 2011, Wali has gone above and beyond to help neighbours facing hunger.

Not only does she give her time generously as a food sorter, but she also shares her incredible artistic talent with the community.

Her colourful handmade quilts are true labours of love. Since the summer of 2021, she has been selling her beautiful quilts and donating the proceeds to The Mississauga Food Bank.

“My background in food and nutrition gave me the perfect opportunity to be part of The Mississauga Food Bank. Volunteering gave me the opportunity to give back to my community,”

Thank you, Wali, for being such a valued member of The Mississauga Food Bank family. We couldn’t be there for hungry neighbours without caring people like you!
