The Mississauga Food Bank Has Moved

Now relocated to 4544 Eastgate Parkway, Mississauga ON, L4W 3W6

After searching far and wide, The Mississauga Food Bank has secured a new facility to lease and call home. As Monday, April 3, 2023, The Mississauga Food Bank is located at 4544 Eastgate Parkway, Mississauga ON, L4W 3W6.

This physical relocation comes at a time of urgent need where food bank usage has risen by almost 60% since 2019 and is only continuing to rise. The new, larger space is over 43,000 square feet. It will expand their capacity to store the amount of food required to distribute to their network of over 50 agencies, provide more fresh and frozen food to the community and keep programs running smoothly.

“The Mississauga Food Bank has long outgrown our previous facility. We had an urgent requirement to move to keep up with the increased demand for emergency food across our city,” says Meghan Nicholls, CEO of The Mississauga Food Bank. “Our team of staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly to prepare for the relocation, and I am grateful to each of them for making sure our move is seamless, with minimal disruption to the services we provide. I also want to thank our dedicated supporters who have been by our side during this move and for supporting us as we continue to provide healthy and appropriate food to neighbours in need.”

The work isn’t over yet, as The Mississauga Food Bank continues to see record-breaking numbers of food bank clients every month. During the month of February, they saw the highest number of food bank users ever in the history of The Mississauga Food Bank, with 13,850 users. This is a 44% increase year over year. This emergency need is only continuing to rise, and The Mississauga Food Bank is ready to meet this need in their new, larger facility with supporters by their side.
