At TMFB, our priority is the health and safety of our volunteers and staff. As recommended by Health Canada and the World Health Organization (WHO), we have implemented guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus, with a focus on proper hygiene, hand sanitizing, and handwashing.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, please avoid volunteer activities at TMFB if you have travelled abroad within the last 14 days, have been exposed to a case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days, are experiencing difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, a high temperature, cough and/or sore throat.
If these situations do not apply, we would welcome your support to ensure those living in poverty can access food and that our network of neighbourhood food banks, pantries, and other food programs can work together with us to provide this food in a healthy and safe way.
If you already have a shift booked and wish to re-schedule it for a later date, please reach out to your TMFB staff contact person.
Build your team and help feed your hungry neighbours.
There are many great benefits to volunteering with your corporate team:
Volunteering with your corporate team enhances your corporation’s profile, builds team spirit and increases employee satisfaction. Additionally, the food sorting activity provides a welcome change of pace for many corporate volunteers.
Corporations need to make a minimum contribution of $1,500 in order to book a shift.
- Shifts are 2.5 – 3 hours long.
- Shifts are available from Monday – Thursday from 9:30-12:00 or 1:00-4:00.
- A maximum of 20 people can volunteer per shift.
- During these shifts, you will inspect, sort and pack food into boxes.
