The purpose of this role is to assist The Mississauga Food Bank (TMFB) in delivering food to clients who experience mobility barriers that hinder or prevent them from accessing their local food bank.


  • Must be 18 years or older


  • Participate in 1.5 hour volunteer training/orientation 
  • Arrive on schedule at TMFB’s warehouse and report to the Program Leader
  • Carefully review information on your client lists regarding their food needs, including food allergies
  • According to each list, pick food items, including fresh produce, stocked in the TMFB Cupboard
  • Pack individual food baskets for 3-4 clients 
  • Load your vehicle and review your scheduled route 
  • Deliver food at clients’ doors by handing food to them or placing food directly inside the home by the door
  • Complete your deliveries between your scheduled hours and return home afterwards


  • Possess and provide proof of valid driver’s license*
  • Access to a vehicle, and vehicle insurance, with the ability to abide by all road safety rules and security check protocols
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check*
  • Dependable and committed, with attention to detail and a willingness to be flexible
  • Possess a working cell phone
  • Ability to lift 20-35 lbs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to show respect for privacy and dignity for those seeking emergency food support
  • Punctual
  • Highly motivated and results-driven with a demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced, high-pressure warehouse environment 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team with a positive attitude



Start at TMFB Office (3121 Universal Drive, Mississauga) and travel to various locations on the designated delivery route

Important Consideration: Reimbursement for mileage travelled will not be provided.
