About the role
As a tax clinic volunteer, you will act as a tax preparer to complete taxes for neighbours with a modest income and a simple tax situation.
Responsibilities
Complete income tax returns in accordance with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Use UFILE tax preparation software to file tax returns electronically.
Attend training sessions as needed.
Conduct virtual sessions utilizing meeting software (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc.).
Verify taxpayer identity.
Ask questions and clarify taxpayer information when necessary.
Keep taxpayer information confidential.
Utilize the CVITP hotline for any on-the-job queries regarding particular returns.
Report concerns to the Tax Clinic Coordinator.
