Why volunteer?

By becoming a volunteer, you can help ensure hungry neighbours across Mississauga have access to healthy and appropriate food.

Learn

Learn about how poverty affects the lives of your neighbours and develop your knowledge about food insecurity, and how The Mississauga Food Bank helps neighbours in need through different programs and services.

Build experience

Make an impact

The work that you do as a volunteer directly impacts those who are vulnerable in our community. Every volunteer plays a part in putting food on the table of hungry children, seniors, families and other neighbours in our city.

“Right at the start of the pandemic, the food bank client lost her job unfortunately and she was really alone and had no one to talk to. Seeing me helping her out really made her day and she broke down and we shared a moment together which was really incredible.”
