Thanksgiving is upon us!
This fall, come together as a family and give back in a safe, fun, and meaningful way! Join Mayor Crombie’s 2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive and be the reason why everyone has access to healthy food.
Join us on Saturday, October 9 at The Mississauga Food Bank between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to deliver your turkey box and set the table for your hungry neighbours at our Thanksgiving Contactless Drive-Thru Food Drive!
How does it work?
- Download our Stuff A Turkey – Thanksgiving Word Search activity sheet from our website.
- Complete the word search and find out what some of our most needed items are.
- When you’re done, gather your donation items and decorate a box to look like a Thanksgiving turkey! You can add your own message to provide hope to hungry children, seniors, families, and other neighbours struggling this season.
- Drop off your unsealed turkey box at The Mississauga Food Bank (located at 3121 Universal Dr.) on Saturday, October 9, 2021 between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at our Thanksgiving Contactless Drive-Thru Food Drive.
- We’ll also be accepting boxes during regular business hours, or at your local fire station.

Who does the food drive benefit?
By participating in our food drive and Stuff A Turkey – Thanksgiving Word Search, you’ll ensure our hungry neighbours get access to the healthy and nutritious food they need. This year, more than any other year, is a time to reflect and give thanks for making it through one of the toughest years together as a community.
You can help neighbours like Isabella, who turned to her neighbourhood food bank for the first time this year because she was struggling to put food on the table for her family. “Every week I was spending $100-$120 on groceries. Because of the food bank, I can now put an extra $400 towards my rent.”
