Volunteer Spotlight, Vanessa Hertzberg

Meet Vanessa Hertzberg, Food Hamper Packing Lead Volunteer

Today we are shining the spotlight on Vanessa Hertzberg, one of our Food Hamper Packing Lead Volunteers! 🙌📦

Vanessa feels proud to work hard for something that is providing meaningful, healthy support for those in her community. “We need to come together to rise together. When working alongside others who are volunteering, I get a real sense of positive energy because our values are aligned, and we’re all working towards a common goal.”

She volunteers at the food bank 3 hours a week, but Vanessa knows that even a little goes a long way, especially with many hands on deck! “The fact that our small Wednesday evening team can pump out 200 food hampers in less than 3 hours, AND still have time to spare with assisting in further food sorting feels amazing! We rock it! Just imagine how many MORE hampers we could pack and more food we could sort if more people got involved?”

Vanessa, thank you, for everything you do here at The Mississauga Food Bank! 🤗 If you would like to become a volunteer like Vanessa, apply online:
